Manufacturing of KOMATSU / KUTANI "SHAPE OF MATERIALS"
Komatsu City, Ishikawa Prefecture, has roots in stone culture such as jasper beads making in the Yayoi period, and is now engaged in a wide range of manufacturing such as Kutani porcelain ware, textile industry, construction machinery and industrial machinery. This exhibition, which spotlights Kutani porcelain and sophisticated fiber production technology, brings together local artists, companies, chefs and students (Tama Art University Department of Integrated Design and Joshibi University of Art and Design) to explore "the way of life in the future" for the region. The exhibition's sub-theme is "the shape of materials," which seeks to give visitors a chance to explore the extraordinary creativity and expressiveness found in the porcelain, pottery, textiles, and food of Kutani.
