ISSEY MIYAKE LE SEL D'ISSEY: Imagination of Salt
Thirty years have passed since the announcement of L'EAU D'ISSEY POUR HOMME, a fragrance created to evoke the scent of water.
To celebrate a new fragrance to be released based upon designer Issey Miyake's fascination with another essential natural element, this exhibition features an installation created by Tokujin Yoshioka, the designer and artist who designed the bottle for the new fragrance. "I want to express the appeal of pure, powerful perfume from the standpoint of fundamental, universal themes," explained Yoshioka. He is known for his innovative works on the themes of nature and light; and for this exhibit he developed an engaging experience that speaks to the senses.
There is also a special video, exclusive to this exhibition that describes the design process of the sculptural bottle and features an interview with Quentin Bisch, the perfumer who created the fragrance. Through the exhibition visitors will find themself inspired by the designers' worldviews that lead to the creation of this perfume.
